The International Institute of Orthotics and Prosthetics (IIOP) offers an accelerated, hands-on pathway for licensed allied health professionals to become Certified Orthotic Assistants and/or Prosthetic Assistants.

Who is this Program For?

This program is designed for individuals who currently hold a nationally recognized certification AND are licensed in an allied health profession, including:

  • Medical Assistants

  • Athletic Trainers

  • Physical Therapists / Physical Therapist Assistants

  • Occupational Therapists / Occupational Therapy Assistants

Program Options

Single Discipline

  • Orthotics OR Prosthetics

  • Complete in just one Semester

Dual Certification

  • Orthotics AND Prosthetics

  • Complete both in 2 Semesters

Hands-On, Career-Focused Training

  • Hybrid curriculum: On-campus instruction combined with online coursework

  • 500 clinical hours per discipline at approved IIOP clinical sites

  • Real-world experience in orthotics and prosthetics clinics

Certification Eligibility

Upon successful completion of all required coursework and clinical hours, graduates are eligible to sit for:

ABC Orthotic Assistant Examination

ABC Prosthetic Assistant Examination
