Addison Littleton - Student Blog 9/25/26

Our cohort just finished up in Orthotic Management of the Lower Limb 2, where we spent a big portion of the course working on our KAFO projects. We started by evaluating and casting our classmates and worked our way through modifications, thermoforming, metal bending, assembly, and fitting. After finishing our KAFOs, we wore the devices we made. We completed different activities and outcome measures in them, which gave us a whole new perspective on what it is like to function in a KAFO.

Now we are moving into Prosthetic Management of the Lower Limb 2 and continuing our Clinical Research course. With this being our final in-person semester, it feels like everything is moving quickly. We are continuing to build on what we have learned throughout the program while getting closer and closer to the clinical portion of our education.

We have also been able to have some fun outside of class! IIOP recently took students to a Tampa Bay Lightning hockey game, which was a great way for everyone to spend time together outside of school. We are excited to see what the rest of the semester brings!
