Hello Everyone,

Since our last update, our cohort has made great strides as we’ve completed coursework on introductory lab skills, clinical techniques, and the beginnings of gait analysis.

Following pathology, we pivoted towards adding to and refining our fabrication skills through a variety of projects. These projects included practicing basic skills for orthotic and prosthetic fabrication, creating several tools for use in later coursework, and numerous self-directed projects for fun!

Following lab skills, we learned the tools and techniques for evaluating patients during clinical appointments. With a helpful review of anatomy, we learned how to evaluate patient mobility and muscle function in a professional and effective manner!

Finally, we have started our final class of the semester, gait analysis. So far we have reinforced our clinical evaluation skills while also analyzing the gait of our classmates! We look forward to continuing to improve our skills in gait as we progress towards our orthotics and prosthetics classes next semester!
